Anonymous Donation
We were very fortunate to receive a gift from a friend who wishes to remain anonymous. He very generously donated £1000 for us to put towards purchasing our mobile hoist. This has made a huge difference to our staff and children who need the physical help and need to be lifted onto the changing table.
Every year we ask the children what they would like to spend some of our fundraised money on! We get all sorts of requests but most recently the children enjoyed looking through a catalogue of toys to replace our broken items! They also chose some lovely new sensory equipment.
One of our favourite ways to spend fundraised money is to book visitors that all our children will enjoy. This year we have chosen to spend the Stroud Evening WI Carol Singer’s donation on some visits from our musical therapist Christina Lydon. Christina works wonders with the children and everyone really enjoys engaging in such a stimulating activity.
The donation from the East Hampshire Conservative Association will be used to book a visit from the Theatre Company ‘Simply Smiley Productions’. Shannon has been visiting us for a few years and provides an exciting production where all our children are encouraged to join in. She nevers fails to bring a lot of smiles and laughter to our group and it is wonderful to see our most disabled children enjoying her interactions.
Christmas 2018
We were so excited to be invited to the Salvation Army's Christmas Carol service where the congregation donated an incredible £250. We were then invited back to receive another £101 which had been collected at the children's club. It makes such a difference to receive support from other local groups in this way and the money will go a long way to paying for some of our specialist activities during 2019.
The Stroud Evening WI also donated £100 this Christmas - thank you!
