What we do

The Oaks Playscheme is for disabled children and children with additional needs aged 3 - 11 years. Our playschemes run for 4 days during the Easter Holiday and for 9 days during the Summer Holiday.

We are based in the beautiful, rural village of Froxfield, near Petersfield. We have a huge outdoor space to play and run in. A little garden for quiet time to play in the sunshine and the rain. A large hall with soft play area and dedicated sensory room.

We have a team of experienced staff who care for your child on a one-to-one basis or as part of a little group. You can meet the staff member caring for your child each day so you’ll know that you can share any concerns or requests with them every morning. Your child will always have someone to play with and our staff can accommodate children who require a higher level of care and support. We will always do our best to find a way to make sure every child can spend some time with us at The Oaks.

We tailor the activities to suit the children every day. We are well supported by local groups and organisations and in addition to the messy play, craft and cookery, music and dancing, story telling and trips to the local shop, we have visits from local farms, donkey rides, pony and cart rides, entertainers, theatre groups, fire engines and a musical thearpist...

“The boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves at Oaks again this summer. J just loves the outdoor space at Froxfield and explores every inch of the field! Kim was brilliant and very imaginative in coming up with new activities to try with him whilst he was stuck in his wheelchair. We cannot praise the staff at Oaks highly enough, we leave the boys there confident that they are well looked after”

“The Oaks is a great team to be part of and I love being able to make the children smile.

We get to share so many lovely experiences with them.”

“While I know he is enjoying himself it gives me the time to be able to spend with my three older children and get on with things that may not be suitable for D to be with me for. It has been an invaluable resource over the last few years”

“As a family we are hugely indebted to Oaks and the fantastic people who run it as it gives H a great outlet for his energies during the holiday and gives us the ability to confidently leave him in a secure setting whilst we manage the rest of our family.”
